Model Overview

The Lotus Emeya is the Lotus marque's first all-electric hyper-GT (Grand Tourer) and its third model transitioning from traditional internal combustion engines into the era of electrification and intelligent mobility, following the Evija all-electric hypercar and the Eletre all-electric hyper-SUV. Developed under the codename "Type 133", the Emeya is built on the bespoke EPA all-electric hypercar platform, specifically engineered for high-performance electric vehicles to integrate cutting-edge powertrain, braking, and chassis architectures. As of June 2026, the 2026 Emeya lineup comprises three variants: 600, 600 SE, and 900, priced from RM538,000 to RM828,000. Positioned in the million-Ringgit all-electric GT segment, the Emeya's chief rivals include the Yangwang U7 EV, BMW i7, and Xiaomi SU7 Ultra.

Design Language

The exterior styling of the Emeya inherits the design cues of the multi-million-Ringgit Evija all-electric hypercar. Up front, a Lotus-inspired grille combines with a shark-nose profile to channel airflow efficiently, while twin-boomerang daytime running lights (DRLs) and hidden ADB matrix headlights deliver both striking presence and functional illumination. In profile, a blacked-out roof lowers the visual centre of gravity, while the rear features a world-first RGB colour-shifting gradient halo LED taillight cluster paired with laser-etched translucent brake lamps for a distinctively futuristic aesthetic. The car is equipped with Lotus's signature four sets of Race-Aero aerodynamic ducts, positioned across the upper and lower front bumper, rear bumper, and brake cooling intakes. A deployable dual-tier active rear spoiler comes as standard across the range, generating up to 215 kg of downforce at high speeds. In terms of dimensions, it measures 5,139 mm long, 2,005 mm wide, and 1,464 mm tall, with a generous 3,069 mm wheelbase. Inside, the tech-luxe cabin features a 15.1-inch OLED central infotainment display alongside a 55-inch AR-HUD (Augmented Reality Head-Up Display).

Powertrain and Performance

Across the range, the Emeya is powered by a front and rear dual permanent magnet synchronous motor setup, creating an electric all-wheel-drive (AWD) layout. The 600 and 600 SE variants produce a combined output of 450 kW (approximately 612 PS) and 710 Nm of peak torque. The flagship 900 variant pushes output to 675 kW (around 918 PS) and a massive 985 Nm of torque. In terms of acceleration, the 600/600 SE variants complete the 0-100 km/h sprint in 4.15 seconds on the way to a top speed of 250 km/h; the 900 variant slashes the 0-100 km/h sprint to just 2.78 seconds, with a top speed of 256 km/h. Energy is supplied by a 102 kWh ternary lithium battery pack across all models. CLTC-rated range is rated at 585 km for the 600/600 SE and 530 km for the 900. Built on an 800V high-voltage architecture, the Emeya supports ultra-fast charging; plugged into a 480 kW Lotus supercharger, a 10% to 80% state of charge takes just 15 minutes.

Chassis and Handling

The chassis serves as the core canvas showcasing Lotus's 76 years of motorsport pedigree. Underpinned by the EPA dedicated EV platform, it features an all-aluminium multi-link independent suspension setup. The integrated ICC 6D chassis control system delivers Lotus's hallmark F1-derived dynamics. An active rear-wheel steering system is standard on the 600 SE and above; the 900 gains standard intelligent active anti-roll control. Braking duties on the 600/600 SE are handled by 6-piston front fixed calipers paired with rear floating calipers, whereas the 900 steps up to an ultra-high-performance 10-piston carbon ceramic braking system. 21-inch 10-spoke grey forged alloy wheels are standard across the range. Drivers can toggle between multiple drive modes including Standard/Comfort, Eco, Sport, and Individual, while the 900 gains an exclusive Track Mode to push its handling limits even further.

Cabin and Features

The Emeya is offered in both five-seater and four-seater configurations. Boot space is rated at 509 litres for the five-seater and 426 litres for the four-seater executive layout. In terms of cabin appointments, the base 600 comes standard with frameless soft-close doors, a hands-free powered tailgate, a 15-speaker KEF Premium sound system, 12-way power-adjustable front seats, seat heating throughout, and front-seat ventilation. The 600 SE variant adds a 10-zone intelligent panoramic glass roof, fully powered automatic doors, active rear-wheel steering, 20-way power-adjustable front seats, ventilated and heated seats front and rear, as well as front-seat massage functions. Building on the 600 SE, the 900 makes the intelligent active anti-roll control system standard, adds four LiDAR units as standard (optional on other trims), LED illuminated sill plates, and the exclusive Track Mode, alongside an optional 23-speaker KEF Reference audio system. In the 900's four-seater guise, the rear executive seats gain 12-way power adjustment, an executive centre armrest, and massage functionality. The digital cockpit is driven by dual Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processors, featuring 5G connectivity along with Apple CarPlay and HUAWEI HiCar support.

Safety and Intelligent Driving

Intelligent driving capability is a cornerstone of the Emeya's appeal. The car comes equipped with a comprehensive Level 2 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) powered by dual NVIDIA DRIVE Orin-X processors delivering a combined computing power of 508 TOPS. The 900 comes standard with four LiDAR units (available as an option on other trims), working in tandem with high-definition cameras and millimetre-wave radars to form a robust perception suite. The system supports Highway Navigation Pilot and optional City Navigation Pilot. Active safety highlights include full-speed adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree surround-view camera, automated parking assist, lane centring assist, and automatic lane change assist. Ambarella's Oculii AI 4D imaging radar is integrated into the Emeya's L2+ automated driving architecture, enabling ultra-long-range detection beyond 300 metres. Passive safety is bolstered by front airbags, front side airbags, and front/rear curtain airbags throughout. The 2026 model retains conventional wing mirrors as standard equipment across all variants, with digital side cameras continuing as an optional upgrade.

Market Performance and Reception

Since its debut, the Emeya has generated significant buzz across global markets. The 2026 model year update was officially rolled out on 21 September 2025 across three variants. Retaining its existing powertrains, the update focused on refining trim equipment, standardising 21-inch rims across the range, and trickling premium options down into the mid- and entry-tier specifications. On the commercial front, cumulative deliveries of Lotus's all-electric duo—the Emeya and Eletre—reached 766 units in China during the first five months of 2023, up 29% year-on-year. In Europe, the strong momentum of the Emeya and Eletre spurred Lotus to an impressive 179% YoY sales growth. Nevertheless, market rivalry in China remains intense, with the Emeya recording retail sales of 29 units in January 2026. In its segment, key rivals include the Yangwang U7 EV (from RM628,000), BMW i7 (from RM949,000), and Xiaomi SU7 Ultra (from RM529,900). Serving as a defining milestone in Lotus's electric transformation, the Emeya blends hypercar performance, track-bred handling dynamics, and advanced tech to carve out a compelling niche in the high-end electric GT arena.
